Log #1: Plan And Wiring

Today, I planned the drone part list and was trying to make the frame schematics, but there’s no time for that. I still don’t have the money for the part yet. So I’m going to only plan the wiring of the drone. I make the pinout in the Canva whiteboard. I haven’t written any code yet, but I was planning on using VS Code as it is familiar to me and easy to use.

How it is going to work:

First. There are two main brains on this drone. The ESP32 WROVER DEVBOARD and ESP32 WROOM DEVBOARD.

The ESP32 WROOM DB is the main brain here. It handles the calculation of the gyroscope to send it to the MOSFET and to control the drone stability.

• The gyro-accelerometer mod (MPU-6050) sends data into ESP32 WROOM. The ESP32 Calculate the data sended by the MPU-6050. The data then sended into the mosfets and control the drone to make it stable.

For the ESP32 WROVER. It will track something like a red cross, which I was planning to make the target of the drone. In the center of the cross, there will be a small object that the drone will carry via electromagnet.

The motors will be controlled via the MOSFETs.

The stabilization system is like this:

• If the drone move to the right without any instruction, the accelerometer sends signal to the ESP32 and makes the drone tilt to the left to balance it. Also works for the left.
• And if the drone goes down without instruction, the drone will use more thrust to lift it. So, the motor speed are determined based on the accelerometer.

Future Problems:

In the future, there will be some problems that I need to get rid of. The first is the weight of the drone if it carries an object.

And the second is the battery life. I need to make sure that the drone can fly for a long time without running out of battery.

The last is the Gyro drift issue. But that's problem for later

Log #2: Schematic Planning and Some Fixes

Fixes:

I add a resistor on the motor and the electromagnet on my wiring so my ESP32 doesn't burn and kill my wallet. I use a 100-ohm resistor from the ESP32 pin to the MOSFET and a 10k-ohm resistor connecting between the MOSFET source and gate.
